Former Carson City coach faces trial in child porn case

CARSON CITY -- A judge has ruled there is sufficient evidence to try a former Carson City youth sports coach on possession of child pornography charges.

The Nevada Appeal reported that Stanley Mills, 42, was bound over Friday to Carson District Court on 45 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. Mills was convicted of robbery in the 1990s.

Police said they were investigating a threat involving someone else at Mill's home when they discovered dozens of images and videos of young girls and men.

Law enforcement authorities said Mills was a coach for a number of youth sports programs and an umpire for a youth baseball league. Mills has two teenage sons.
