Gibbons’ press secretary leaving

CARSON CITY -- Melissa Subbotin, press secretary to Gov. Jim Gibbons, announced Wednesday that she will leave her job Feb. 29 to pursue other career opportunities.

Her resignation comes on the heels of announcements Tuesday that longtime Reno law enforcement officer Phil Galeoto is leaving his job as director of the Department of Public Safety and Donna Rise has resigned as director of the Department of Agriculture.

Subbotin's resignation leaves Gibbons without any communications officers.

Brent Boynton, Gibbons' director of communications, quit last September to return to a job on Reno television. A replacement for Boynton never has been named.
