Giunchigliani draws on diverse support base in mayoral race

Mayoral candidate Chris Giunchigliani's campaign organizing meeting drew more than 200 people Saturday afternoon at her 15th Street home.

The turnout included members of Asian, Hispanic, and African-American political organizations among many. It's clear from the turnout, and from the political outreach efforts in the last election cycle of Giunchigliani's husband Gary Gray, that appealing to a broad range of constituencies and ethnicities is one of the candidate's goals.

"It was such a diverse group," Giunchigliani said. "I'm so proud of it. It was just the face of Vegas."
