A Henderson police officer was arrested over the weekend for soliciting or engaging in prostitution.

Michael Stevens, a 34-year-old patrol officer who has been with the department for five years, was booked into Clark County Detention Center early Sunday morning.

Las Vegas police Sgt. John Sheahan confirmed that the department arrested Stevens, but did not have more details surrounding the incident.

Henderson police spokesman Keith Paul said Stevens is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the department's internal investigation.
