Hipper Augustus makes the scene

Caesars Palace has transformed its iconic statue of Caesar Augustus into the poster child of the Electric Daisy Carnival.

It’s been like, what, 2,000 years since he was this hip.

The first emperor of the Roman Empire is showing the spirit of the massive music festival by wearing a green glow necklace and a pair of headphones while holding a handful of daisy flowers.

LOLA’S BIG MOMENT

Lola’s: A Louisiana Kitchen is being featured on Guy Fieri’s Food Channel show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" on Monday.

Owner Lola Pokorny is holding a screening party from 6 to 8 p.m. to benefit Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Tickets: $25. Show starts at 7 p.m., with small bites being served.

Last Monday’s episode featured segments about Fieri’s UNLV homecoming, Forte Tapas Bar & Bistro, 4180 S. Rainbow Blvd., and Naked City Pizza, 3240 S. Arville St. (inside Moon Doggies).

The payoff has been immediate for Naked City owner Chris Palmeri. He told me business has shot up at least six -fold since the airing.

The show repeats Friday.

THE SCENE AND HEARD

Grand dame Elaine Wynn is the commencement speaker today at Agassi Prep’s graduation. She will be introduced by Andre Agassi, the founder.

When I emailed her with a request for a preview of her speech, she called back to say she didn’t want to give away the subject. But she said, "Nothing could make me prouder. It sort of brings things full circle having watched this evolve over the years and I met Andre when he was the age of these graduates and I’ve enjoyed watching him develop into such an extraordinary man."

The first time she met him? When her daughter brought the budding tennis prodigy to the Wynn s’ home.

"They were an item," Wynn said.
