State Bar postpones Mitchell Posin hearing
The State Bar postponed a disciplinary hearing involving Las Vegas attorney Mitchell Posin until June 25 as both sides continue to work on stipulations.
Posin was scheduled to appear before the State Bar panel this morning.
Ten complaints against Posin accuse the attorney of settling lawsuits without his clients’ knowledge or claim portions of his clients’ settlements have disappeared, according to documents obtained by the Review-Journal.
RANCHO DRIVE WRECK
75-year-old man dies after single-car crash
A 75-year-old Las Vegas man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle wreck in the northwest valley Wednesday.
The cause of death was not immediately known, Las Vegas police said.
The man was driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla south on Rancho Drive, near the intersection of Duncan Drive, about 11:10 a.m. when witnesses said the vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed, swerved to avoid another vehicle and jumped onto the sidewalk.
The car then went onto the landscaped shoulder and struck a large tree, police said.
An autopsy will be performed by the Clark County coroner’s office to determine whether the cause of death was caused by the impact or a medical condition that occurred prior to the collision.
