Las Vegas man offers testicle for sale

A Las Vegas man is hoping to get paid to have one of his testicles removed.

But don’t worry. He hasn’t lost his marbles.

In a trailer for the upcoming episode of TLC’s “Extreme Cheapskates,” Mark Parisi says he plans to participate in a medical trial in which one of his testicles will be removed in exchange for a hefty sum of cash.

“What you do is you go in and donate one of your testicles and replace it with an artificial one,” said Parisi, who describes himself on Twitter as a Vegas show guy. “And when you check out after 14 days, you get a check for $35,000.”

Parisi has managed to save more than $150,000 over the past two years by cutting costs and participating in several medical trials, including an Ebola virus study, in exchange for money or free checkups, according to a description of the episode from TLC.

“Everyone was panicked when my friend and I did that study,” Parisi said about the Ebola study. “It was $5,000 for a week, so why would I not do it?”

Parisi has gone so far as to keep the scrubs given to him in the trials and use them for his everyday wardrobe.

Some of the more controversial trials, such as a heart-stopping study, that Parisi has tried to participate in have been shut down by the Food and Drug Administration, he said.

“They stop your heart for one minute, but you still breathe,” said Parisi, adding that the 14-day study would have paid him $25,000.

Since September, Parisi has been counting down the days on his Twitter account until the airing of the reality television show.

The episode of “Extreme Cheapskates,” premieres today at 9 p.m. EST on TLC.
