Local Sierra Club to host open house

The local Sierra Club will host a “Step It Up” open house Saturday at Spring Valley Library to raise awareness about the need to curb carbon emissions in the environmentalists’ fight against global warming.

Saturday’s event from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the library, 4280 S. Jones Blvd., is part of a nationwide campaign “to send a clear message for Congress to step it up before it’s too late.”

We want action now in reducing carbon emissions 80 percent by 2050,” the club’s announcement reads.
