Man arrested in roommate’s shooting death

KINGMAN, Ariz. — An Arizona man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of his roommate at their remote residence about 12 miles northeast of Lake Havasu City.

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said Kenneth Paul Neale, 44, was booked into jail Wednesday on a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Joseph Ciolino, 36.

Carter said Neale contacted deputies at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday claiming a 911 call hadn’t gone through. She said Neale led deputies to Ciolino’s body on a couch in their residence in the 7500 block of Spirit Ridge Road.

An autopsy determined Ciolino died of multiple gunshot wounds. Carter said Neale told investigators that he discovered Ciolino dead after he returned from a beer run.

Carter said Neale was taken into custody after questioning produced inconsistent statements. She also said a weapon that may have been used in the homicide was recovered from the vehicle Neale was driving.
