Man kills woman, attempts suicide in North Las Vegas

A man shot and killed a woman in North Las Vegas before turning the gun on himself tonight. North Las Vegas police said the 46-year-old Cibolo, Texas, man had a previous relationship, and a child, with the 38-year-old woman. Their names were not released.

Officers responded to the home on the 4900 block of Rancho Domingo Court, near Camino Al Norte and Lone Mountain Road, at 4:47 p.m., regarding a domestic disturbance. They heard gunshots inside the home and forced their way inside.

When they went inside, they found the North Las Vegas woman dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The man was found in critical condition from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police said the woman was assaulted by the man in front of the house when she returned home. When she was fatally shot is unknown.

A 16-year-old was found barricaded inside a room in the house. She is not the child the man and woman had together, police said. The gunman was taken to University Medical Center.
