A man accused of aiding a suspect charged in the shooting death of a 9-year-old North Las Vegas girl pleaded not guilty Thursday in District Court.
Marcus Larry, 27, is charged with multiple felonies, including murder with a deadly weapon, in connection with the June 12 slaying of Savannah Bullins.
Police say Savannah was in her father’s apartment near Cheyenne Avenue and Interstate 15, when Kenneth Reid, 21, fired a 9 mm gun multiple times into the apartment.
Investigators said the bullets were meant for the victim’s father, Wilbert Bullins.
Authorities said Reid and Larry were in a dispute with Wilbert Bullins, who sold marijuana.
Larry, accused of helping Reid escape, was released on house arrest.
Reid also is charged with multiple counts, including murder with a deadly weapon. He is in custody at the North Las Vegas Detention Center.
Reid and Larry are both convicted felons with ties to local gangs.
The multiple felony charges against them are tagged with gang enhancements that could increase their sentences if convicted.
Reid’s arraignment was postponed to later this month.
