Man serving life sentence dies at 69

An Ely State Prison inmate serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and forgery died Friday.

Medical staff at the prison tried to perform life-saving procedures on Genaro Martino, 69. He was pronounced dead when emergency responders arrived.

Martino had been incarcerated since December 1995.

An autopsy will be conducted.
