The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that center Tyler Mosienko has been returned by the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League. The team also announced that forward Hugo Carpentier has been reassigned to Las Vegas from the Quad City Flames of the AHL. Both players are expected to play in Utah tonight at 6:05 pm (PST).
Mosienko returns from Manchester after playing in nine games for the Monarchs. In the second AHL stint of his career, Mosienko scored a goal and added three assists for four points in Manchester. At the time of his recall, Mosienko was leading Las Vegas with 14 assists and was second in scoring with 21 points in 21 games played. The West St. Paul, MB native was also tops on the team with a +12. The third-year Wrangler is second all-time on the team’s scoring list with 132 points in 156 games played. Overall, Mosienko has played in 244 pro games, scoring 63 goals and adding 121 assists for 186 points.
Carpentier returns to Las Vegas for his fourth stint with the team. In all, Carpentier has played in 12 games for the Wranglers, totaling a goal and three assists for four points. The rookie center played in 13 games with Quad City this season, posting a goal and three points. Carpentier was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round (#118 overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. The first-year center played the last four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In 257 junior games, the 20-year old scored 81 goals and dished out 123 assists for 204 points.
Las Vegas will play in Utah tonight and Saturday at 6:05 PM (PST).
