Officials to release report on 2014 fatal bus crash in Northern Calif.

LOS ANGELES — Authorities will release findings on Friday from an investigation into an April 2014 bus crash in Northern California that killed 10 people, including five high school students on a college recruitment trip.

The five Los Angeles-area students had been on their way to tour a university campus when a FedEx truck collided with their tour bus on Interstate 5 in the agricultural community of Orland.

The crash also killed five adults including a college recruiter and the drivers of the bus and FedEx truck. Thirty-nine others were injured, authorities said.

California Highway Patrol officials said in a statement they will hold a news conference to present findings from the 13-month investigation into the crash. Investigators have examined mechanical, human and other factors that might have led to the collision, the statement said.
