Suspect arrested in death of student selling car on Craigslist
Police in Hazelwood, Missouri, said they have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a man who posted his car for sale on Craigslist.
Michael Gordon, 24, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Taylor S. Clark, KMOV TV reported.
Authorities said Gordon and Clark exchanged emails and agreed to meet Monday. Police said the two met in the parking lot of MTC Trucking Center in 1200 block of Missouri Bottom Road in Hazelwood. Gordon is an employee of the trucking company.
Police said Clark was shot in the head shortly after the two met during Gordon’s lunch break. Authorities said Gordon then tried to hide Clark’s body in a nearby wooded area before he returned to work.
Police later found Clark’s car in the trucking company parking lot and found his body nearby.
Police said Clark, 19, was a student at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and had just taken final exams. He was last seen by his girlfriend around 10:30 a.m. Monday in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
