Nevada Legislature opens in Carson City

The 77th Legislative Session opened in Carson City Monday, Feb. 4, 2013. Troubled Assemblyman Steven Brooks, D-North Las Vegas was seated, but is expected to take a leave of absence of at least 10 days. Mo Denis, D-Las Vegas became the first Hispanic to be Senate majority leader in Nevada. Denis shook hands with Senate Minority Leader Michael Roberson, R-Las Vegas, and both agreed that harmony should mark this session.
