North Las Vegas police officer involved in fatal shooting

A North Las Vegas police officer shot and killed an individual described as a male in his mid teens to mid 20s tonight during a physical altercation.

Sgt. Tim Bedwell said the incident occurred near the intersection of Ann Road and Revere Street about 7:20 p.m.

The officer, whose name was not released, made contact with at least one person and ended up firing his weapon during the confrontation.

The officer was not injured.

No additional details were immediately available.
