Northern Nevada Correctional Center inmate dies

An inmate serving 10 years to life in prison died Feb. 16 at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.

James Reed, 53, of Humboldt County, died from a chronic medical condition, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Reed had been incarcerated since 1993 after being found guilty of sexual assault of a minor under 16, the report said.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of his death.
