OSHA probing death of man found at school construction site

Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigators are looking into the death of a man whose body was found at an east valley construction site over the weekend, the agency said Monday.

That man is Porfirio Gonzalez-Huerta, 49, of Las Vegas, according to the Clark County coroner’s office. It wasn’t immediately clear how he died.

First responders were called about 11 a.m. Saturday to 4131 E. Bonanza Road, near the intersection at Sandhill Road, Las Vegas police said. The address is the site of Equipo Academy charter school scheduled to open later this month, according to its website.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with our crew and their families tonight,” the charter school said Saturday on Facebook.

OSHA spokeswoman Teri Williams on Monday said she couldn’t release further details on the investigation.
