Police van involved in crash that injured two

Two people were taken to the hospital Sunday morning after a crash involving a Las Vegas police van in the northwest part of the valley.

A Hummer H2 was traveling east on Cheyenne Avenue when it was hit by a Metro SWAT van that was heading south on Rampart Boulevard about 10 a.m., Metro said. The Hummer then spun out and struck a Ford F-150 that was stopped in the right turn lane on Rampart, police said.

The SWAT van went through the red light on Rampart with its police lights and sirens on when it collided with the Hummer, police said.

The drivers of the Hummer and the F-150 were transported to Mountain View hospital with minor injuries, Metro said.
