Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said his wife, Landra, is “doing very well” and has six weeks of radiation treatment left to complete in her battle against stage 2 breast cancer.
Harry Reid said Thursday that his wife, after finishing chemotherapy, had her head shaved the other day but is in good enough health that he felt comfortable in visiting Nevada over the Easter Senate break.
“Landra’s doing very well,” said Harry Reid, who seemed in good spirits this week at home.
Harry Reid was returning Thursday to Washington, D.C., after spending a few days in Nevada.
The couple, who are in their early 70s and have been married more than 50 years, had remained in the nation’s capital over the Christmas holidays as treatments in the area continued.
Two years ago, Landra Reid broke her neck and required surgery after a car crash. She recovered fully and had returned to Nevada with Reid during his 2010 re-election campaign.
