State Route 158 will be closed from the Deer Creek Picnic Area to the intersection with State Route 156 on Mount Charleston from 7 a.m. Wednesday through 5 p.m. Friday.
The Nevada Department of Transportation said U.S. Forest Service crews will be hauling away debris from a blasting project designed to create sight lines between oncoming traffic and the nearby parking lot, which is being expanded.
The picnic area and state Route 156 will remain open during the project. Residents will continue to have access to their homes. The general public will be allowed to access Lee Canyon via Route 156 and Kyle Canyon via state Route 157. To travel between Lee Canyon and Kyle Canyon, drivers will have to travel down to U.S. Highway 95.
