The Clark County Shooting Park will open its doors Saturday, with weekend hours only through Jan. 3.
The park is at 11357 N. Decatur Blvd., about five miles north of the Las Vegas Beltway.
County Commissioner Tom Collins will fire the first shot at 8 a.m. at the shotgun firing range.
The park is expected to open full time by mid-January, when a large event is scheduled. It will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for the next three weekends.
The 2,900-acre park’s $61 million first phase will include a trap-and-skeet field, an archery range, a rifle and pistol center, and a shotgun center with 80 recreational vehicle spaces.
Rifle rentals and ammunition are not yet available. It is recommended that park users bring their own firearms and ammunition as well as ear and eye protection.
