Sixth suspect arrested in officer’s slaying

A sixth suspect has been arrested in the slaying of Las Vegas police officer Trevor Nettleton, North Las Vegas police announced today.

Michael Ferguson, 25, was arrested and charged with accessory to murder after the fact about 3 p.m. today, according to a news release.

Ferguson, a North Las Vegas resident, was already in custody at the North Las Vegas Detention Center on unrelated misdemeanor charges, police said.

The release stated that Ferguson was arrested on the misdemeanor charges Saturday. Nettleton was killed Thursday.

North Las Vegas police spokesman Tim Bedwell said investigators are looking for anyone who was involved in Nettleton’s slaying or participated in an attempt to cover up evidence.

“The arrest today is a result of that investigation,” Bedwell said.

Bedwell said he didn’t know if Ferguson was related to 18-year-old Emmitt Ferguson, who was arrested this week on charges of accessory to murder in the same case.
