Social Security offers safety net for all stages of life

Welcome to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s 2013 Social Security publication.

It is both an honor and a pleasure to serve as the area director, Inland Empire for Social Security field offices in Nevada.

I want to personally thank all the hardworking Social Security employees who provide world-class service to the residents of Las Vegas.

Social Security benefits assist families who may be suffering economically by offering disability, survivors, retirement and children’s benefits.

In addition, Supplemental Security Income benefits are available to those with limited income and resources.

Both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income provide residents of the Las Vegas Valley with the ability to acquire financial independence.

As you will learn in this special insert, Social Security offers a safety net for people at each stage of life: youth, middle-age and retirement.

I am confident that, after reading this issue, you will have a better understanding of the Social Security programs that are available to you.

I hope you will enjoy learning about Social Security and its benefits and programs. It will inevitably play a significant role in your lives.

No matter which stage of life you are in, please visit the Social Security website at www.socialsecurity.gov.

You will discover a wealth of information, and our online services will allow you to apply easily and quickly for benefits for you and your family.
