Suspicious package at Sawyer Building ruled no danger

The Sawyer Building was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a suspicious package was discovered.

Las Vegas police spokesman Jacinto Rivera said package was found at 1:22 p.m. inside the building, at 555 E. Washington Ave., at Las Vegas Boulevard.

Authorities deemed the package to not be a threat, and the building was opened about 4:15 p.m., Rivera said.

Rivera wouldn’t say what type of package it was or what was inside it.
