Teenager held in killing ID’d

The 17-year-old arrested Friday in the shooting death of another teenager at a party this month is Jonathan Vazquez, according to county jail records.

Las Vegas police arrested Vazquez and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center on multiple charges, including murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon.

Vazquez is accused of shooting a 17-year-old boy multiple times at a party May 6 on the 2900 block of Mitzi Avenue, near Owens Avenue and Mojave Road.

Friends of the victim took him to North Vista Hospital, where he later died. The name of the victim was not available Sunday.
