Three people displaced in Henderson fire

A Sunday morning fire left three people and their pet displaced in Henderson, firefighters say.

Henderson firefighters responded to a home near Patrick Lane and Stephanie Street just before 11:30 a.m. and found a building that was heavily involved in flames.

The owner of the home was there when the fire started outside and spread to the attic, and tried to put the fire out, firefighters said. The owner was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and no other injuries were reported.

The owner and two other adults, along with a family pet, were displaced by the fire.

The blaze was ruled accidental by investigators, caused by careless discarding of smoking material. They estimated the damage at $65,000.
