Twitter’s bluebird of tardiness
September 15, 2010 - 10:21 am
OK, Twitter, where's the new look? You've been teasing me for about 12 hours, and I still am seeing the same old Twitter, circa Sept. 14.
Your public relations message touts a new, double-pane display. The design will supposedly make it easier to view photos and videos. It will make it easier to jump into the feed of those I follow. You even have an artsy-fartsy video showing the new look in action. I like the music — "Generator (1st Floor)" by the Freelance Whales. The tune is stuck in my head. Thanks.
One of your tweets touts a "new bird," yet the old, familiar blue bird is all you show me — over and over. In all sorts of places. On windows, at the market, on books and on record albums (yeah, the old, vinyl kind.)
The numbers 9 and 14 are featured throughout, as in Sept. 14. Yet today is 9/15 and still the old Twitter is all I see.
You tweeted about the changes and invited me to visit twitter.com/newtwitter, so I did. I like it. I want it.
Here's the video you tease me with:
And a screen grab of the new dual-pane view:
Please turn it on to the world.
Soon.
I'll tweet about it.
