Victim in Northern Nevada fatal crash identified

MUSTANG (AP) — Authorities have identified the victim of last week’s fatal accident on Interstate 80 in Northern Nevada.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says 50-year-old David S. Abrams of Sparks was traveling east Friday morning when the driver of a big-rig truck in the lane next to him apparently didn’t see him.

Troopers say a preliminary investigation shows the 2010 Freightliner tractor driven by 39-year-old Shawn A. Huff of Tremonton, Utah clipped the left rear of Abrams’ Chevy S-10 pickup.

Abrams’ truck hit a guardrail and crossed over both eastbound lanes and the center median before rolling over onto the westbound lanes.

Abrams was pronounced dead at the scene near the Mustang exit.

Huff was not injured.
