Woman wakes up to find puma destroying her kitchen

A Chile woman was surprised to find a puma wreaking havoc in her kitchen recently as she started to make breakfast.

Amalin Haddad told Sky News she was making breakfast at her home in the Lo Curro area of Santiago, Chile, when she noticed the animal. She said she didn’t immediately realize what she was looking at.

“I thought it was a dog because I saw its legs first, but it was a puma,” she said. “A puma, a puma like those you see in the zoo.”

The puma had apparently entered the house by breaking a window, according to the Mirror.

She locked the animal in the kitchen before calling authorities and going outside to take photos of the animal while she waited for its removal.

Experts with the Agriculture and Livestock Service shot the puma with tranquilizer darts, but it was able to remove them, according to Sky News. It was eventually sedated and taken to the national zoo.

Zoo officials said the puma was well-cared for and was possibly a pet that had escaped.
