Going down rabbit holes in the Las Vegas Strip shooting

In response to the recent letter from John M. McGrail:

What in the world does it matter where the shooter registered to vote and to which party? Under what scenario does party affiliation have anything to do with the shootings? Is Mr. McGrail attempting to say there was a political motive to the rampage?

Also, what difference does it make how much he won playing video poker? With so many questions needed to be answered or clarified, who cares about his video poker winnings? Maybe the IRS?

Sorry, but those two points are so irrelevant.
