LETTER: All public pension contributions come from taxpayers

In response to Gary Mahoney’s Monday letter on state government pensions (“Sour grapes”), in which he says public employees contribute to the retirement fund: Where does he think the employees get the money to contribute to the fund? All their funds are provided by taxes on citizens. The system should be converted to a 401(k)-type plan, and lawmakers must quit promising unrealistic benefits.
