LETTER: What the voters want from a campaign

Why can’t political candidates emphasize their own virtues and be positive when touting their initiatives? All we hear from Republicans and Democrats are mud-slinging speeches against their opponents. We deserve better. We need politicians to be positive and promote what’s best for the American people.
