EDITORIAL: Reforming teacher pay

Many candidates will spend the next five months talking about their desire to increase teacher pay. Don’t expect them to point out how much teachers actually earn. If they did, there would be more of a push to reform how teachers are paid — which is what Nevada needs.

First lady Melania Trump “hates” to see families separated at the border and hopes “both sides of the aisle” can reform the nation’s immigration laws, according to a statement Sunday about the controversy over separation of immigrant parents and children at the U.S.-Mexico border.

2 feared dead, others hurt after quake hits Osaka, Japan

A strong earthquake knocked over walls and set off scattered fires around the city of Osaka in western Japan on Monday morning, and at least two people were feared dead.
