Bitcoin of America is making cryptocurrency an everyday norm.
The virtual currency exchange, registered as a money services business with the United States Department of Treasury, offers several different services, including online trade, Bitcoin tablets, and Bitcoin ATMs.
Bitcoin of America is making it easier for businesses to incorporate cryptocurrency into their services. “We have a new point-of-sale system where businesses can begin accepting cryptocurrency as a form of payment for their store,” said Bitcoin of America’s Director of Marketing, Jenna Polinsky. You have these big companies now accepting it, and that’s helping.”
Bitcoin of America has about 1,500 ATM locations across the country, including 15 in Las Vegas, where they provide fast and hassle-free transactions to customers. Many are in gas stations and convenience stores. To find a location, click here.
The company’s new universal kiosk combines the capabilities of a traditional ATM with a Bitcoin ATM. There are three functions these kiosks offer, starting with the traditional ATM feature where customers can dispense cash from a debit card. The second function enables people to buy bitcoin and Litecoin with cash. The third option is that customers can sell crypto in return for cash.
That’s a sought-out feature in Las Vegas. Casinos can’t accept cryptocurrency for gambling, but gamblers want to convert it to cash for that purpose.
“There are lots of tourists and gamblers in Las Vegas who are constantly using ATMs to dispense cash,” Polinsky said. “We try to make it convenient for them by placing ATMs nearby.”
The company said there’s still a learning curve when it comes to cryptocurrency and that people are often intimidated by it. They’re helping overcome that with tutorials. Watch the ATM process here.
“It’s a convenient all-in-one kiosk experience for the business owner and for the customer,” Polinsky says. “And if you are a convenience store or gas station owner you can host a Bitcoin ATM and earn extra income.”
These universal kiosks are bringing stores additional revenue streams without taking up extra space. Bitcoin of America has made it possible to only have one machine with all of the same capabilities.
Bitcoin of America takes care of each location’s marketing, both physical and online, with a monthly ad budget. They provide support to customers who use their host locations. In addition, Bitcoin of America is responsible for maintenance and installation services for the hardware required to run the ATM.
“We would like to eventually put an ATM in every gas station in every neighborhood across the United States,” Polinsky says. “The more we integrate crypto into our local businesses, the better shot we have at it becoming an everyday routine.”
Bitcoin of America also launched its Bitcoin Teller program where customers can purchase Bitcoin and Litecoin with cash. These teller locations allow for a face-to-face purchasing experience, which is considered a great option for first-time buyers. Unlike an ATM, these teller locations allow a customer to interact with the merchant, instead of with a machine.
“You have a face-to-face purchasing experience, which means you can go in and ask questions,” Polinsky said. “A lot of times when a customer visits an ATM, they are confused about what they are doing, but our teller locations take care of this with a real person behind the machine.”
Bitcoin of America has an expanding number of teller locations, which are like having an ATM in the palm of your hand. It involves a smartphone or tablet using the company’s app.
“We currently have about 29 teller locations right now in the country,” Polinsky said. “It is a newer program that we are working on expanding and looking to bring to Las Vegas. The closest one now is in Kingman, Arizona.”
It costs businesses nothing to host a teller location, while giving them a chance to earn extra income, increase foot traffic and take advantage of advertising opportunities.
