(BPT) – In the United States alone, more than 29 million people are affected by diabetes. Most of those people – about 90 percent to 95 percent – have type 2 diabetes. NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins is the most celebrated player to ever put on an Atlanta Hawks uniform, and is one of those people living with type 2 diabetes. He has teamed up with Novo Nordisk, a world leader in diabetes care, on a new initiative to help transform the way others think about managing their diabetes: Dominique’s Diabetes Dream Team. Through the program, adults with type 2 diabetes are getting an inside look at his full-court approach to managing his disease.
