51s’ 20 hits go for naught in 11-10 loss

Jay Gibbons went 4-for-5, including the go-ahead RBI single in Albuquerque’s five-run sixth inning, in the Isotopes’ 11-10 Pacific Coast League win over the 51s on Saturday night in Albuquerque, N.M.

Las Vegas (18-25), which led 8-6 after five innings, held a 20-16 edge in hits and had four players — Aaron Mathews, Brian Dopirak, Jarrett Hoffpauir and Luis Figueroa — notch three hits apiece.

Dopirak hit two solo home runs, including one leading off the ninth for the 51s’ final run, and Mathews and Jorge Padilla also homered for Las Vegas.

51s starter Rey Gonzalez (4-3) was lit up for 10 runs on 13 hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out three.

Jamie Hoffmann, John Lindsey, Russ Mitchell and Ivan DeJesus Jr. had two RBIs apiece for the Isotopes (21-19).
