Tuesday’s doubleheader between the 51s and Sky Sox was postponed because of cold temperatures and snow in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The twinbill was scheduled after Monday’s game was called because of freezing temperatures and 35 mph winds. The weather didn’t get any better, with temperatures in the 20s and snow showers on Tuesday.
The games will be made up as part of doubleheaders when Las Vegas next returns to Security Service Field from Aug. 26 to 29.
Off the field, 51s outfielder Juan Lagares was called up by the New York Mets, who then sent down outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis. The 24-year-old Lagares, who has never played in the majors, was hitting .346 with three home runs and nine RBIs in 17 games at Las Vegas.
