Clark senior-to-be Jones orally commits to Wyoming

Clark High School small forward Diontae Jones made an oral commitment Thursday to play at Wyoming.

The 6-foot-6-inch rising senior chose the Cowboys over UC Santa Barbara. He also drew interest from Colorado, Colorado State and Utah.

“Their style of ball fits my style. It’s a good fit,” Jones said. “Coach (Larry) Shyatt is a defensive-minded coach, and I’m a defensive player.”

Jones averaged 13.0 points last season and was a first-team All-Sunset Region pick after helping the Chargers go 29-3 and reach the Division I-A state final.
