Creighton downs UNLV women’s basketball, 66-56

McKenzie Fujan scored eight of her game-high 17 points in a game-breaking 12-0 run midway through the second half to help carry Creighton (6-6) to a 66-56 victory over UNLV (3-9) on Saturday night at Cox Pavilion.

Alana Cesarz and Danielle Miller had 14 points apiece and Mia Bell added 12 for the Lady Rebels, who led 34-33 at halftime and forged a 46-46 tie with 13:09 left to play before the Blue Jays reeled off 12 straight points to take control. UNLV got no closer than nine the rest of the way.

Rmanii Haynes added eight points and eight rebounds for the Lady Rebels. Sarah Nelson had 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists for Creighton.
