Dellucci hits homer as 51s swat Tacoma

David Dellucci hit a two-run homer and Aaron Mathews had three RBIs, carrying the 51s to an 11-4 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers in the Pacific Coast League on Thursday at Tacoma, Wash.

The 51s (32-42) rode two big innings, scoring five runs in the fourth and four in the fifth. Dellucci’s first home run for Las Vegas came in the fifth, when J.P. Arencibia added an RBI double and Mathews had an RBI single.

Brett Harper and Mathews hit two-run doubles in the fourth, and Kevin Howard had RBI singles in the fourth and seventh.

51s right-hander T.J. Beam (4-2) got the win with 5 2/3 strong innings in relief of Scott Purcey. Beam allowed one run on three hits, struck out five and walked none.

The teams end their four-game series at 7 p.m. today.
