FISHING REPORT
■ LAKE MEAD — Fishing has been slow with the cold, windy weather. With a forecast for warmer temperatures this weekend, it would be a great time to try your luck. Experiment with a variety of lures to find what might work best for that day.
■ LAKE MOHAVE — Largemouth bass are hanging near the cliff walls. Anglers should have some luck while jigging up to 50 feet. Participants in a recent bass tournament in Cottonwood Cove caught a few fish in the 5- to 6-pound range. At Willow Beach, one angler reeled in a 5-pound striper while trolling with a 4-inch money minnow.
■ URBAN PONDS — Weekly trout plants have provided action for anglers. PowerBait and worms are good choices for bait.
■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA — Ice conditions are treacherous. Open water persists along the dams on Haymeadow, Adams-McGill and Dacey reservoirs. The water is cloudy, making things difficult for fly fishers. Those using PowerBait and worms are having more success.
■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR — The ice has finally thickened, and ice anglers did well last weekend, with most getting their limits using night crawlers.
■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR — The ice has improved and is safe for anglers. Rainbow trout are taking night crawlers and PowerBait.
