Fishing report

■ LAKE MEAD -- Fishing is fair. The biggest challenge is finding the fish. Boulder Beach around Pyramid Island as well as Sand Island have been good. Anglers have been picking up fish while jigging and trolling cut anchovies.

■ LAKE MOHAVE -- Fishing remains fair for shore and boating anglers at Cottonwood Cove. Anglers are landing catfish with cut anchovies and prepared baits fished off the bottom. A few stripers have been caught while still-fishing and trolling with cut anchovies. Quality largemouth and smallmouth bass continue to be caught with top-water and shallow-diving lures. Anglers can expect the Nevada Department of Wildlife to plant trout at Placer Cove and Powerline Cove next week. Fishing at Willow Beach has been good after the weekly trout plant. Anglers are catching trout using PowerBait, small lures and flies. There have been no reports of stripers this week, though casting trout imitation lures down river from Willow Beach probably will catch larger fish.

■ LAS VEGAS URBAN PONDS -- Fishing has been slow, with warm-water species becoming lethargic. The NDOW will begin its seasonal trout plants at Floyd Lamb Park, Lorenzi Park, Sunset Park and Boulder City Veterans Memorial Park ponds next week.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA -- The next few weeks should be good for trout, with larger fish coming out of Dacey. Bass fishing will continue to decline.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR -- Trout fishing continues to be good for rainbows and tigers. Brown trout should be in the middle of their spawn and aggressive.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR -- Despite low water levels, trout fishing should be good. PowerBait or a worm with a marshmallow combination are good techniques.
