Hendrickson, Omaha send 51s to fourth loss in a row

Ben Hendrickson pitched a four-hit shutout Saturday in leading the Omaha Royals to a 9-0 victory over the 51s and a sweep of their four-game Pacific Coast League series at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb.

Hendrickson (10-5), a right-hander, struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Mike Aviles went 4-for-4 for the Royals (58-57), including a two-run homer in the third inning and an RBI double in the first.

Shane Costa was 2-for-5 with a stolen base and scored twice for Omaha, which had 11 hits.

Justin Huber’s 13th home run of the season, and third in games, in the fourth inning put the Royals ahead, 5-0.

Ryan Shealy capped the scoring with a three-run shot, his fourth of the season, in the seventh.

Eric Stults (5-6) started for Las Vegas (53-61), giving up five runs on six hits and a walk in four innings. He struck out three.

The 51s will open a four-game series against the Iowa Cubs at 11:05 a.m. today in Des Moines.
