Post Time 1 p.m.
Race 1 – 1 mile (turf, rail at 24 feet), Purse $56,000, Maiden Special Weights, 4-year-olds and up
2 Presenceofagenius – Gary Stevens takes over for Edwin Maldonado; figures to get overbet with Hall of Famer up.
3 Incline Village – Hate to see Kayla Stra lose the ride to Joe Talamo; she is riding as well as anyone in the SA jock’s room.
Long Shot – 5 China Girl Lover
Race 2 – 6 furlongs, Purse $45,000, Claiming $50,000, 3-year-olds
2 Maximinus – Won nicely in last first race for a price tag; facing winners for the first time, always a major class rise.
4 Horse Laugh – Gutsy win under the bugboy Nicholas who is out injured; gets another bugboy, Vandyke, who pulls 10 pounds.
Long Shot – 3 Tosheen
Race 3 – 1 1/16th miles, Purse $30,000, Optional claiming $32,000, 3-year-olds
2 Hobbits Hero – Claimed by Jeff Mullins whose barn if off to a hot start; morning line chalk, watch for the amount of support.
6 I Rock the Party – Turf Paradise invader makes his Arcadia debut; suspect will float up in odds as Phoenix horses will.
Long Shot – 1 Clouds Clearing
Race 4 – 1 1/8th miles, Purse $19,000, Claiming $10,000, 4-year-olds and up
2 Big Wags – How about this rider change from Tammy Piermarini to Rafael Bejarano; she’s a good rider, but it signals intent.
5 Graeme Crackerjack – Edwin Maldonado picks up Rafael Bejarano seconds here; this horse is love so don’t let that fool you.
Long Shot – 9 Go to the Pulpit
Race 5 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 24 feet), Purse $40,000, Fillies, 4-year-olds
9 Burns Turn – Like the parking lot post down the hillside turf course; this is a big class drop to face much easier.
2 Happybirthdaybaby – Tepid chalk was claimed in last by the maestro Jerry Hollendorfer; well spotted, expect improvement.
Long Shot – 7 Travesura
Race 6 – 7 furlongs, Purse $23,000, Maiden claiming $30,000, 3-year-olds
8 Anythingtogeteven – Anyone who reads my comments knows how much I like cutbacks; this one from a 2-turn mile for this.
3 Common Confusion – Has shown steady improvement and may be ready to finally graduate; ran well from parking lot post 12.
Long Shot – 2 Midnight Mayhem
Race 7 – 6 1/2 furlongs (turf, rail at 24 feet), Purse $58,000, Optional claiming $80,000, 3-year-olds
1 Toowindytohaulrox – Gets a big class drop from stakes for this O/C; hate the rail, but like the colt very much.
2 Street Icon – Exploded last time with a big race, first time in Jerry Hollendorfer barn; repeat race puts him right there.
Long Shot – 5 Bourne Hot
Race 8 – 6 1/2 furlongs, Purse $20,000, Maiden claiming $20,000, Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and up
5 – Elegant in Silk – Sliding down the maiden claiming ladder to the bottom; won’t be long before Tyler Baze starts heating up.
11 Kid Rollins – Taking the biggest class drop in racing from MSW to maiden claiming; need not be much in this fragile field.
Long Shot – 4 Sugar High Kaylin
Best Bet – 1 Toowindytohaulrox (race 7)
