Jets player says he was ‘just kidding’ with tweets about pot smoke
Brandon Marshall expressed concern via Twitter on Sunday that he might test positive for marijuana use because of all the secondhand smoke he was exposed to at his sister's wedding in Jamaica.
"Dear @NFL there's smoke everywhere in Jamaica. I'm a occasional drinker (wine) red to be exact, but I do not smoke. Please help!!!," the New York Jets wide receiver posted.
Sounds a bit paranoid to us. Just saying.
"It smells like Denver over here!!!," Marshall wrote in another post. "I better not (fail) my drug test."
On Tuesday, Marshall said that he "was just kidding around" with those tweets, though he acknowledged the aroma of pot smoke was prominent on the island.
"It was like everywhere we would walk," he said. "I walk into my room after the day is over and it was like, 'You smell that?!' Or you'll just be on the bus and the driver smells like it. I was like oh, man, this is crazy."
No truth to the rumor that Marshall then cut the interview short to wolf down a big bag of Doritos.
