The 51s scored four runs in the first four innings, then held on for a 5-3 Pacific Coast League victory over the Oklahoma RedHawks on Wednesday in Oklahoma City.
Andy LaRoche had an RBI single in the first inning, and the 51s (59-53) got a John Lindsey sacrifice fly and a LaRoche RBI double in the third to take a 3-0 lead.
The RedHawks (63-49) got a run back in the bottom of the third, but a Jason Repko RBI triple in the top of the fourth gave Las Vegas what proved to be the winning run.
Oklahoma tightened it up with two runs in the fifth before Wilkin Ruan’s sixth-inning RBI single wrapped up the scoring.
LaRoche finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Ruan went 2-for-4 and Repko 2-for-5.
Las Vegas starter Heath Totten (5-2) allowed three runs on 10 hits in seven innings, with no walks and three strikeouts.
Wednesday’s win opened an eight-game trip for the 51s, who have 5:05 p.m. starts today through Saturday against the RedHawks before moving on to New Orleans.
