■ SERIES NOTES: The 51s have won 14 of their last 18 games to climb into the Pacific Southern Division race. They trail Pacific Coast League-leading Fresno (26-13) by six games. Las Vegas is 10-4 in May after going 10-15 in April. 51s catcher/infielder Yan Gomes is tied for fourth in the PCL in batting with a .359 average. Las Vegas left fielder Travis Snider homered Tuesday for his first hit in 18 at-bats since returning from the disabled list May 9. The veteran slugger opened the season on an 18-game hitting streak before injuring his wrist attempting a diving catch April 26 at Cashman Field. He’s batting .333 with five homers and 27 RBIs in 25 games. 51s second baseman Ruben Gotay is batting .379 (11-for-29) during a nine-game hitting streak and .357 overall. Las Vegas left-handed reliever Evan Crawford was recalled by the Blue Jays on Monday. Memphis features three of the Cardinals’ top 10 prospects, according to Baseball America, in right-handed pitcher Shelby Miller (No. 1), third baseman Zack Cox (No. 4) and first baseman Matt Adams (No. 9). Las Vegas also will host the Nashville Sounds (14-24), Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, from Monday through Thursday. Nashville features two of Milwaukee’s top 10 prospects in right-handed pitcher Wily Peralta (No. 1) and outfielder Logan Schafer (No. 6).
