After two huge title fights were announced last week to headline UFC 197 on March 5 at MGM Grand, the rest of the card has started to fill up.
A lightweight bout between Tony Ferguson and Michael Johnson is the most prominent among the bouts to be confirmed.
Though Johnson has lost back-to-back fights and Ferguson has won seven straight to surge into title contention, Ferguson has been pursuing the matchup in order to avenge the only loss of his UFC career, a decision loss to Johnson in 2012.
A lightweight bout between Diego Sanchez and Jim Miller was announced as the featured preliminary bout on the portion of the card scheduled to stream online through UFC Fight Pass.
Also, Corey Anderson will take on Tom Lawlor in a light heavyweight bout and welterweight Erick Silva returns to action against Nordine Taleb.
Featherweights Darren Elkins and Chas Skelly will also meet on the card.
UFC 197 will be headlined by a superfight between featherweight champion Conor McGregor and lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight belt and women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm’s first title defense against Miesha Tate.
